Project Context

The Student Productivity Dashboard was designed to help students manage coursework, assignments, schedules, and academic progress from a single interface.

Many students rely on multiple tools such as learning management systems, calendars, note-taking apps, and email to stay organized. This fragmentation can create unnecessary friction and make it difficult to quickly understand priorities.

Assumptions & Observations

During the planning phase, several common challenges were identified:

  • Students often struggle to prioritize assignments across multiple courses.

  • Important deadlines can be overlooked when information is spread across different systems.

  • Existing academic portals frequently contain large amounts of information but lack clear visual hierarchy.

  • Students need a quick overview of upcoming tasks without navigating through multiple screens.

  • Mobile accessibility is important because many students check assignments and schedules throughout the day.

User Goals

The dashboard was designed to help users:

  • Quickly identify urgent assignments

  • Monitor academic progress

  • View upcoming deadlines and schedules

  • Reduce the time spent searching for information

  • Create a more organized and focused academic workflow

Design Objectives

Based on these observations, the design focused on:

  • Clear information hierarchy

  • Minimal navigation friction

  • Visual prioritization of tasks

  • Responsive layouts for desktop and mobile devices

  • Scalable component-based design
